CARE TO DANCE 2006

Don't just say that you care - dance it! Care to Dance 2006 invites youths to dance up a storm and touch young lives. Presented by YMCA of Singapore and Lindy Hop Ensemble (LHE), Care to Dance 2006 uses the creative medium of dance as a novel way to engage youths in meaningful community service. Now in its second year, the annual initiative is organised by youth, to bring together 600 youth volunteers and children from underprivileged backgrounds. This project is in celebration of SHINE, a youth festival supported by the Ministry of Community Development, Youth & Sports and the National Youth Council. Care to Dance is also supported by the Singapore Press Holdings Foundation.

This year, dances will include popular dances from Hollywood to Bollywood! The project blends East and West as volunteers get to learn exciting and vibrant Swing, Jive, Rock'n'Roll, Disco & Funk dance moves as well as Bombay Boogie - a mesh of classical and modern Indian dance moves set to popular music! They will then share their new-found dance skills as learning facilitators to children from low-income families and intellectually disabled children.

Registration is free of charge and open to all youths aged 15-35 yrs. Join us at Care to Dance 2006 and see dance change lives! Complete beginners are welcome.
